Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 6, 2026
Wildex is operated by Hunt Circle ("Wildex," "we," "us"). This policy explains what information we collect through the Wildex iOS app, why we collect it, and how it's handled. If you have questions, contact us at support@thehuntcircle.com.
Information we collect
Account information
When you create a Wildex account, we collect your email address, a username, and a display name. We use Firebase Authentication to manage sign-in; we do not receive or store your password in plain text.
Photos
Wildex is a photo-first app. When you post, list a ranch, or update your profile, we collect photos you choose to upload — either from your camera or your photo library. Photos are stored in Firebase Storage and may be visible to other users depending on where you post them (public feed, a group, or a ranch listing).
Location
With your permission, Wildex uses your device's location to show you ranches and hunts near you. Location access is optional — you can deny it and still use the app, though nearby-ranch search will be less relevant. You can revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings.
Booking and payment information
When you book a hunt, payment is processed by Stripe, our payment processor. Wildex does not collect or store your full card number, CVV, or bank details — Stripe handles that directly and shares with us only what's needed to confirm and manage your booking (amount, booking status, last four digits of your card, receipt information).
If you list a ranch as an owner, you'll set up payouts through Stripe Connect. Stripe collects the banking and identity information required to pay you; Wildex does not store your bank account details.
Identity verification (ranch owners)
Before a ranch can be listed, we verify the owner's identity using Stripe Identity. This involves Stripe collecting a government-issued ID and a selfie directly — Wildex receives only the verification result (verified / not verified), not the ID image or document data itself.
Push notification tokens
If you allow notifications, we store a device token (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can deliver alerts — for example, a new booking request, a message, or activity in a group you belong to. You can disable notifications in iOS Settings at any time.
Content you create
Posts, comments, group memberships, messages, bookings, and reports you submit are stored in our database (Firebase Firestore) so the app can function — showing your posts to others, keeping your booking history, and letting you report content that violates our guidelines.
What we don't collect
Wildex does not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. We don't sell your information to advertisers or data brokers.
How we use your information
- To operate the app: authenticate you, display your posts and listings, process bookings and payments, and deliver notifications.
- To keep the community safe: reviewing reported content, enforcing our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, and preventing fraud or abuse of the payment system.
- To communicate with you: booking confirmations, receipts, and support responses.
Who we share it with
We share information with the service providers that make Wildex work, and only as needed for them to provide that service:
- Stripe — payment processing, ranch owner payouts, and identity verification.
- Google Firebase / Google Cloud Platform — authentication, database, file storage, backend functions, and push notification delivery.
Other Wildex users can see information you choose to make visible: your profile, your posts, your ranch listings, and public reviews. We do not share your private information (email, exact payment details, government ID) with other users.
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the safety of our users, or to investigate suspected fraud or violations of our Terms of Service.
Data retention and deletion
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing support@thehuntcircle.com. We'll delete your account data within 30 days, except where we're required to retain records (for example, payment records needed for tax or fraud-prevention purposes, which Stripe retains per its own policy).
Children's privacy
Wildex is not directed at children, and hunting bookings involve payment, so the app is intended for users 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
Your choices
- You can edit or delete your posts and listings within the app.
- You can disable camera, photo library, and location access at any time in iOS Settings.
- You can disable push notifications at any time in iOS Settings.
- You can request a copy of your data or deletion of your account by contacting support@thehuntcircle.com.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where required, notify you in the app.
